A pool table, or pocket billiards table (as the sport’s governing body prefers to call it), has six pockets – one at each corner of the table (corner pockets) and one at the midpoint of each of the longer sides (side pockets or middle pockets). Historically, as old engravings show, tables sometimes used to be made with only four pockets, but the rest of this section addresses six-pocket pool tables.

Hand soccer is a game played by two teams. The object of the game to propel the ball by hitting it with an open or clenched fist, into the wall that is designated as the goal area. Each team separates themselves into 3 different groups and plays using these positions: forwards, backs, and goalies (forwards and backs are considered “floor players”). The goalies of each team are the only players that may catch or hold the ball. The ball is put back in play by the goalies by hitting it into the court with an overhead or underhand volleyball serve.

The game of carrom is played in India since 18th century. Although no concrete evidence is available, it originated from India. Maharajas were playing this game in their palaces.
One Carrom Board with its surface made of glass is still available in one of the palaces in Patiala. It became very popular among the masses particularly after the 1st World War. State level competitions were being held in different States of India during early part of the nineteenth century. Once treated to be a pastime game, carom is now being played by about 20 million people in India alone.
Poker is a family of card games involving betting and individualistic play whereby the winner is determined by the ranks and combinations of their cards, some of which remain hidden until the end of the game. Poker games vary in the number of cards dealt, the number of shared or “community” cards and the number of cards that remain hidden.
The betting procedures vary among different poker games in such ways as betting limits and splitting the pot between a high hand and a low hand.
